Hi! I’m María Elena — but everyone calls me Male or Malena ✨

🔎 I’ve always been naturally curious and sensitive to what’s around me. I pay attention to how people interact with things, their gestures, and the emotions those moments spark. That way of observing and feeling led me to a lifelong question: how can technology make life easier and more enjoyable?

My first contact with UX happened long before I even knew what UX was. For my engineering thesis, I designed an app for an e-learning system that no one wanted to use 😅. Back then, I called it innovation — now I know it was UX/UI.

That was the beginning of a path I never left behind: understanding people and turning their needs into useful, accessible, and memorable experiences. After more than nine years in engineering, today I design for what has always moved me — real people and real life.

🌎 My work brings two worlds together: the logic of engineering and the empathy of human-centered design. And this portfolio is proof that I didn’t just stumble upon UX…
